25 years of Spain

Today marks 25 years since I first set foot on Spanish soil. My first destination was Barcelona and this blog entry recorded my impressions. It has been a quarter century of fascination with the amiable people [1], rich cultures [2], varied landscapes [3], and absorbing languages [4].

I'm finally filling one gap in my map of Spain. Better late than never.

[1] The rain and wind followed me to Granada, but a woman was kind enough to help me with my unwieldly umbrella.
[2] I got to listen to Tomás San Miguel and the txalaparta before I knew what a well-known artist he was.
[3] Green Spain in the north is nothing like the stereotype images of Spain.
[4] Why I won't forget what oreja means in Spanish.
